Giants update

This is from John Clayton on ESPN radio earlier this morning:

The Giants and Plaxico HAVE a deal. He didn't come to the meeting the other day because the Giants didn't officially have the cap room, because the league was still reviewing some restructurings and the paperwork hadn't finished yet.

Also, Giants and Dolphins are in serious talks about trading Will Allen for Patrick Surtain, but the hold up is that the Fish also want a 2nd round pick, which the Giants don't want to do because they don't have a 1st rounder, and only 4 picks in the whole draft.

ALSO, the Giants have almost come to terms with former Jets TE Anthony Becht, to be a blocking TE and free up Shockey for more recieving.

Again, nothing's done until it's done, but John Clayton's a pretty reputable source. And by the way.. this has ALREADY been the best offseason ever for the Giants. If any of this comes true too.. :bigshock: :bigshock:

Holy schnikes! :bigshock:

I'm not so sure I like the Surtain move though. We're thin on picks already and isn't Surtain on the wrong side of 30?

Surtain's only 29, actually. I think that's young enough that I could live with giving him a 3 year deal. But I don't like including the 2nd to do it.
