Cordo Posted April 2, 2005 Share Posted April 2, 2005 Saints sign A Smith The New Orleans Saints have agreed to terms with RB Antowain Smith to a one-year contract, the club announced today. The physical, veteran running back who has twice rushed for over 1,000 yards in a season has recorded 6,222 yards and 51 touchdowns on the ground over the last eight years, and has led his team in rushing five times. "Antowain will give us solid depth behind Deuce McAllister and another viable option in our offense," said Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis. "He's a strong runner, the kind of big back we wanted to add to the backfield. And he is an experienced leader with two Super Bowl rings." ....
