Shotgun Messiahs
Man did Tito get his ass kicked or what? I don't think he got 3 clean punches in the whole fight. Super Zab Judah whooped the shucks outta Rivera. I predicted it be over in 2 rounds but it went 3. Zab just toyed with the poor guy. It was sad to watch this guy try to dodge Judah the whole 3 rounds. But I think Judah is going to redeem himself as the best in due time. whomper
Yeah. Weve been talking some good boxing in the weight class thread..Trinidad is retiring again because of the beating he took and that his father doesnt want to do it anymore..It looks like Winky might fight the winner of Hopkins Taylor which should be great. Tyler Rose
As happy as I am for Winky that he is finally getting some props I must go on record as saying that Wright vs Hopkins would not be a very exciting fight. These two fighters are too skilled and experienced to really go at it tooth and nail so I think it would be a very tactical battle but lacking in any prolonged exchanges. Boxing purists would be treated to a sensational battle of wills and skills but a knockout would be about a 10% possibility. Taylor vs Wright would be more interesting as the young lion would look to take out the old veteran fighter and walk into the bees nest. As for Tito.....well,I guess he finally learned that his name alone will not knock guys out anymore and you need a fight plan to get things done. Beating a Mayorga looked nice but he was the perfect set-up patsy to make Tito look great but I felt as soon as he signed to fight Winky that he made a mistake. Even if you beat Wright you will not look good doing so. Tito should have taken Vargas again or some other fringe guy who looks decent but taking on Wright was way too much too soon. whomper
I wish Tito fought De La Hoya before he retired again..Although Oscar ran late he I think he got hosed on that decision. Wright /Hopkins would be a tactical fight. I agree. Kind of like a Chris Byrd fight.
Tyler Rose
I agree on the DelaHoya-Trinidad decision. I thought Oscar won 7 or 8 rounds of that fight but the way he finished left alot to be desired. Wright would have a great chance against Bernard in such a tactical fight as he is one of the few fighters who can almost match Hopkins in experience. He isn't foolish enough to try and knock Hopkins out and his youth as well as being a lefty would serve him well. If I'm 'The Executioner" and I get past Taylor (which I think he will via close but clear decision) I definately avoid Wright. Too much risk, way too little reward.
