Hey -- I return from hiatus (a small town in Vermont) only to find that lengthy sigs again appear possible ... now, while my offer to rent out a pair of my allotted 5 lines never proved profitable, I'm curious about the redoux ... What prompted the switchback to long sigs?

There's been no change to the limit. It's not by line, it's by number of characters.
