  1. didn't end my season... probably had very little effect actually. but i just want to say that tre'quan smith is the most frustrating fantasy player ever lol i've been trying to find a WR2 since i lost will fuller and geronimo allison in the same week. i've been cycling between guys like tre'quan, donte moncrief, etc. it's the same cycle every time: one week: tre'quan goes off for 25+ points on my bench next week: i start tre'quan and he goes for zero points on zero-to-one targets next week: i put him back on the bench.... and he blows up for 25+ again
  2. i just don't understand what makes this a domestic violence situation.... isn't this just "violence?" is any instance of violence between two people who know each other considered "domestic violence?"
  3. yeah i hear you and i also think Latavius is pretty underrated league-wide. people have been coming up with all sorts of reasons for why he shouldn't be a starting RB in this league ever since i can remember. he's big, strong, and surprisingly fast (4.38 40 time). people say he doesn't have fast "game speed" or whatever. seems like bs to me. i think he must do something that coaches don't like, which would explain why no one seems to be willing to make him their #1 rb. maybe he's not good in the passing game so his presence on the field tells the defense the team is running. he doesn't get many targets so that may explain it.
  4. the Bears def is in a league of its own this year. i wouldn't worry about that game. he looked great in that game against the Lions.. Cook will be fine in my opinion. that Vikings offense has been surprisingly top heavy this year, compared to previous years - Rudolph is doing very little. Aldrick Robinson converts a big play every now and then, but overall they get very little from WRs 3-5. it's really just Thielen and Diggs this year. that's been the entire offense. and Latavius Murray. but assuming Cook is truly healthy, i don't think Murray is a real threat to Cook's workload going forward. and we're already seeing evidence of that with Murray's volume seeming to decrease the past two games. so since the offense has been so top heavy with Thielen and Diggs, I would expect that there is a lot of room for a third guy to get heavy volume in that offense, and all signs point to that guy being Cook imo. the only thing that would stand in the way in my opinion is his hamstring not cooperating.
  5. didn't the redskins already sign alex smith to a big extension though? very weird situation.
  6. does anyone know how this trade was possible? i don't know all the league rules like the back of my hand, but i know there's a trade deadline in the middle of the season, and I assume it applies until the season is over.... and the season isn't over.... sooooo? what gives lol
  7. How bout some Mikey Thomas
  8. i have no idea about your questions, but this bengals offense is really struggling with AJ Green as the only legitimate threat. In my opinion it stands to reason that whenever Ross starts seeing regular playing time (looks like he got no targets today?), having that outside vertical threat out there could open up the offense and free up space for the run game and the other receivers (à la Will Fuller)
  9. they signed andrew whitworth though who is a top 5 LT. they should be pretty solid in pass protection, able to provide for a functional passing game.
  10. Who do you think is more risky though? I don't really get why people who seem to doubt Jordy and Davante so much. Jordy will probably slow down a bit in the touchdown category but I think he'll still be a capable #1 for at least this year and probably next year as well. People seem to treat him like he's really not that good, like it's all a result of Rodgers. They seem to forget he was drafted only about 10 picks after guys like DeAndre Hopkins and Dez Bryant. As for Adams, being the #2 guy seems to make all the difference. Maybe he can't handle most teams' #1 CBs. Maybe Jordy can do that better due to his height. Idk. But as long as they have Jordy, I think Adams will be fine. I suppose I'd have to choose Cobb as riskiest but he's probably going fairly late so even still it's not a huge risk. That's the Packers for ya.
  11. if eifert we're a surer bet to play 16 games, i might have to go with him. even in an injury riddled season like 2016 he's putting up stats that are just as good if not better than anyone other than gronk. i think he's a pretty strong challenge to Reed for highest ceiling if they were to both play 16 games. and greg olsen gets it done every year. pretty safe pick. i like both eifert and olsen more than kelce at whatever their values (most likely) end up being. kelce's been getting so much hype since the end of last season - i guess he's the de facto number two. maybe with maclin gone there's a better argument to be made than there was over the winter, but i've never been a fan of the kelce hype and i doubt i'll draft him at all this year. would much prefer eifert, olsen, marty b, ebron, hh and probably a few others at whatever their draft values end up being compared to taking kelce in the 3rd. hell now that i look at current ADPs i see gronk's only about 12 spots ahead of kelce - would definitely take that instead.
  12. the general pattern seems to confirm what i would expect, which is that WRs are safer picks floor-wise that there's not any huge benefit ceiling-wise to either position
  13. would be cool to see just 2014-2016 if you have the data on excel or something (and additional rounds would be very cool too) cause i feel like the prevailing draft philosophy up until the past few years was much more RB heavy in the first round. i did a brief skim of the some of the historical ADPs from the link you posted and it seems to support that. and it seems like there were less WRs in the top half of the first round compared to now. i didn't see many WRs going before picks 8 or 9 or so other than Calvin sneaking into like 4-6 a few times, and i don't think i saw any WRs going in the top 3 picks ever until 2014. that seems to be a bit of a turning point where 2 WRs went in the top 6 picks and WRs outnumbered RBs for the round as a whole. it also seems like people were more willing to take QBs high several years ago. did matt stafford really go #12 in 2012? jeez. 5 QBs in the first 13 picks that year...
  14. are you sure about that? that doesn't sound right, what bonuses or salaries is hernandez still earning in 2017 anyway when he hasn't played football since 2012? i would've thought his contract was cancelled the minute they cut him. i would've guessed it's about whether his family keeps his money/assets vs whether the victim's family would've been awarded it if he was found guilty, but idk
  15. whereas if he got convicted all of his money would've gone to the lloyd's family?
  16. totally get ya, if you can't talk about the minutia, then there's not gonna be a whole lot to talk about here in may i'm not quite sure how you're splitting hairs though. i definitely agree about their pretty clear commitment to cook, and that this'll probably be latavius' only year in minny. though if mckinnon walks next year, they might choose to hold onto him as basically a backup to cook.

    NFL Draft

i dunno man that o line looks pretty good to me, on paper anyway. zeitler doesn't get much recognition but he's basically an all pro level guard. also, don't overlook jamar taylor. a free agency diamond in the rough last year who they gave a 3 year contract to a few months ago. the browns are kinda like the jaguars right now imo. adding tons of talent, but it probably won't really all come together until they find the right QB. if i were a browns fan, i might actually be a bit worried about the fact they took kizer, cause they could end up viewing it as a reason to not use all those picks they've accumulated to ensure they get Darnold next year. thought it was a great pick aside from that. if he shows promise, i have a hard time seeing them take a QB like that while they have a young QB like kizer who's seen as a "franchise QB" by the media and fans on the roster.
  18. i get why you feel that way, i just have a good feeling about him, much better than i felt about him before the draft at least. i actually think latavius deserves more credit than he gets for being a pretty consistent, dependable back who gets what the o-line gives him and can break off a big play now and then. there's a lot of RBs in the league who can't do that (usually occupying the giants depth chart.....). but oakland's line was probably top 3 last year along with dallas and pittsburgh, and he averaged 4.0 ypa while d-wash and richard (who aren't exactly all-pros either) averaged 5.4 and 5.9. that front office seems a little over-reactive, i'm not sure how well they planned out their off-season strategy for rb. but I think a 2nd round pick (plus a 4th) buys him more than enough opportunity to at least be half of an RBBC if he's anywhere near the RB he was in college. why do you say 2-3 years to develop, because of murray's contract? cook's ability to pass protect? RBs seem to have a pretty easy transition these days aside from pass protection issues. regardless, i'd def draft fournette over him cause i think he'll develop fine as a pass catcher (not amazing, but fine), plus i trust coughlin to fix that o-line, and they do have a few solid pieces now. cook and mccaffery are just about neck and neck to me as mccaffery carries a bit less risk and has a clear shot at significant playing time in year one, but i think cook will probably be the better player in the end. i feel like mixon is basically neck and neck with cook and mccaffery to me too. similar amount of risk as them (off field + injury + bust potential), less of a shot at being an immediate starter, but supposedly has the highest ceiling according to most people. for me, fournette is a clear number one. the other three are basically tied, mixon maybe a smidge below cook/mccaff
  19. do you disagree with Eric Winston's and Ross Tucker's views on this topic? https://www.podcastone.com/episode/RTFP-622:-Eric-Winston Eric Winston talks about it from 6:32 to 12:06 and then Ross Tucker talks about his stance from 20:22 to 21:20
  20. After seeing how the draft played out, I have a sneaky optimistic feeling about Dalvin Cook being very good, very early... for one, I think McKinnon gets overrated as a player due to his athletic scores (and visa versa for Cook). the fact that their skill sets overlap so much leads me to think it will be one or the other who gets a heavy workload, not both and, possibly above all else, the vikings clearly saw it a priority to add a talented high end RB. how much a team invests in a player can often be a stronger predictor of playing time than it really should be. and especially in a year where the vikings didn't have a first round pick, and in a time where RBs are devalued in the draft, to trade up for a guy and preclude your team from adding talent at any other position until the 3rd round says a lot about how they view McKinnon (and latavius... almost forgot about latavius) and how they view the importance of having a high end "franchise" RB. and with the center they drafted plus the two tackles they signed, they should have an o line that at least allows the team to function properly
  21. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2017/04/02/nfl-held-an-owners-only-meeting-in-arizona/ i wonder if jerruh read this thread
  22. the way we (the media, fans, etc) seem to get so excited whenever one of these players *maybe* did something wrong, it's a bit... unsettling, i guess, in my opinion. like, do we hope that it's him? are we cheering for that? i'm not some kind of voice comparison expert lol, but i listened to a few interviews and videos of him mic'd up on the field (so you can hear him yelling). listen from 4:22 here: https://youtu.be/dquZsL3y6LU?t=4m22s he says "hey" very similarly to how the person in the tmz vid said it, but his voice sounds quite a bit deeper when he's yelling on the field and in interviews. "beyond a reasonable doubt" seems like a bit of a stretch to me at least #Offseason
  23. Does anyone know of a resource or does anyone have data (non-copyrighted, of course) for the specific passer rating allowed (and/or completion percentage allowed) by individual CBs that they might be willing to share? i'm only looking for seasonal stats, not broken down by week. Even if it's just the 2016, that would be good. I'm guessing the $3000/year version of PFF probably has it but that's just a tad out of my price range lol. but if there's another place that charges for it, i would consider it. thanks
