Caveman_Nick
I can't really recall much about the Raiders when Art was the coach previously. Was he a disaster then or a decent HC? The reason I ask is that it took even Joe Gibbs a season to adjust to the new NFL. The 'skins at the beginning of Joe's first season back were dreadful. Since then they have climbed back to respectability. Is there a chance this happens for the Raiders as well?
Cameltosis
There is nothing skinny on Art.
Bronco Billy
I'm certainly not a long time Raider fan, but Shell's previous tenure in LA (they were the LA Raiders back then): Record: 54-38 regular season; 2-2 in the playoffs over almost 6 seasons (he took over for Shanahan when Shanahan was fired in the regular season). His teams were mediocre in both overall O & D and scoring O & D, usually ranking in the teens in all four categories every year, with a few exceptions on D. In the first half of his tenure, his O skill players were a mishmash amalgum of players, in the second half of his tenure he had Harvey Williams rushing for 1000 yds give or take & Tim Brown catching for 1300 yds give or take every year. His teams were notoriously boring & predictable but reasonably effective. He had some problems back then with player relations, and that really seems to be a huge problem for him this time around.
