rattsass
I think icongress wants to know if MLB knew about the steriod use and covered it up. If they wanted to stop the use of performance enhancing drugs, they would have increased the penalties along time ago. They should have a zero tolerance like the olympics. You get caught and your done. I think steriod use is wide spread among all professional sports and probably even high school and college... Not so sure Congress wants to really know anything or not. It seems some of them were clearly going after Clemens and others were clearly going after Mcnamee. All Congress did was make them both look like liars, yet still probably don't have enough evidence to screw anybody with a perjury charge. Yet another waste of time in my opinion. But I think you are right about the widespread use opinion. Steroids, HGH, and whatever the next wave of drugs we don't even know about yet are rampant in sports and that is just the way it is. And Congress probably can't do anything about it, but at least now they have given the illusion that they can or could. Easy n Dirty
Amazing to me that a hearing liek this, which is arguably beyond the confines of what this particular committee should be concerning itself with, ends up coming down on party lines. Republicans were going after McNamee like sharks who smell blood, and Democrats were doing the same to Clemens. Amazing to me that we continue to elect people who suddenly find themselves incapable of coming up with their own point of view on anything anymore. Very frustrating. Clemens BTW is a staunch Republican and is friendly with the Bush family I believe.
MikesVikes
Clemens BTW is a staunch Republican and is friendly with the Bush family I believe. Well Clemens did say that he's easy to find. Like the time that a former President went to his ranch to talk to him. But Baseball commissioners don't have GPS.
