Sound off: The much improved Bengals

Much has been made of the deep and healthy Offensive line and the effort Rudi Johnson has made to get back into top shape. Through 8 series that Carson Palmer has been on the field the Bengals have scored once. Often times looking worse than they did last year, the Lions were the latest team to "swiss Cheese" the offensive line and burn the Bengals secondary. Just preseason, or are the Bengals regressing?

It is just preseason. I am sure they are working out the kinks in a bunch of areas. Palmer is a stud and will perform up to his potential, bringing up the fantasy values of everyone around him.

I agree with the Utecht strategy, but I am more concerned with the "big guns" as the Bengals have four players that are likely to be drafted in the first five rounds. Even though it is preseason the Bengals have looked BAD and this time it was Detroit destroying their line. Palmer has been a different player since he was injured and now the WRs are starting to flake out.

Preseason it is, but the starting O-Line has looked awful when you know that defenses are showing you totally vanilla looks. I'm a Bengals fan and I am worried. The problems we had last year were due to inconsistency on the O-Line. It appears that Levi Jones (LT) and Willie Anderson (RT) are shells of their former selves after chronic injuries. I'm bumping down the Cin. skill position players a tad.

I'm sorry to say, but Carson has regressed. I'm sure his physical skills have not diminished yet, but he is not the same guy. The confidence and body language is different, and he is holding onto the ball instead of firing bullets down the field. This very well could be a direct effect of the lack of quality running attack. They need Rudi. Watson is great in the passing game, but doesn't make the defense respect the run enough to make things easier on Palmer. Three years ago this team was really on the come. I am sad to say that in my opinion, they are at this point going backwards again. It seems to me like neither Palmer or Lewis have control of this team.
