Chadman
Looking at injury reports and seeing both Coles and Cotchery looking less than strong to play, but both probably could. Any solid local info there on the extent of the injuries, what is being said, and the chances one or both won't play? I could use a spot WR start and could see Stuckey being a nice option if either or especially both were out against the Chiefs. And I could maybe see them trying to sneak in a game and save both considering the opponent. Thanks for any opinions.

I'd pickup Chansi Stuckey. Favre loves him.

I'm hearing he is likely out aswell (no link - radio) but I did not hear deinetely out but I am at work and spot hear. Chansi Stuckey might be a decent play this week if anyone of them sit. Cotch has a leg injury but it sounds like he wants to play and will try to so he is looking better than coles.
MrTed46
I heard on the radio that Farve's throwing arm isn't 100%. Can a local elaborate on what they've heard? (obviously affects the WRs) Thanks. Mike and Mike discussed this yesterday and think this is a rumor... People started saying that in the Oakland game because he didnt go deep but they also said you take what the defense gives you and they were giving him the short dumpoffs and the run. Who knows what the truth is but I dont think favre arm is messed up at all. Mangini is a wuss also...he doesnt take the chance of a deep ball often
Trots
per Rotoworld: The Newark Star-Ledger reports that Laveranues Coles (concussion) is expected to play in Week 8 against the Chiefs. The Star-Ledger cites "someone with knowledge of Coles' health" and calls his concussion "mild." Coles hasn't participated in any practice yet this week, however, and it's unclear what he'll do in Friday's workout. He did take part in non-contact drills to start the workout. Stay tuned. The Waterboy
This is a bizarre year for Coles. I've read he's had a strained hamstring recently, before that it was a helmet to thigh, now it's a concussion. I also heard he has some kind of painful condition in his foot that he just has to manage and won't ever get better. It sounds like his body is starting to break down a bit. II love LC as a player, but I'm a bit concerned about him. It seems like he's just never going to get off that injury report and be fully healthy. Rovers
I think the Jets will run the ball twice as many times as they throw it agianst the Cheifs. Stuckey might have a big play if Cotchery sits, as he is likely to start. Coles is always hurt... he has the turf toe thing, and now a concussion problem. I don't think Favre is banged up any more than he usually is, but I think Mangini will go conservative this week, not wanting Favre to take too many hits and looking to give both Coles and Cotchery a "virtual" week off. I can see Brad Smith getting a lot of time at WR mostly to run block. I think the sneaky plays are Dustin Keller with Bubba Franks out, and Leon Washington. If the Jets run 35 times, LW should get at least ten carries and maybe 5 more outlet passes. He has the speed to break one, and while so does Stuckey, with so many more touches (I expect) LW is more likely to break off a big play. I could see a lot of running play calls, and then some short to intermediate throws to Keller over the middle once KC starts over playing run D. Then again... LOL... Favre IS allowed to change calls while under center, and he LOVES to play gunslinger...
RJV
Looks like Coles is going to play. CBS Sportsline: New York Jets wide receiver Laveranues Coles and safety Eric Smith were listed Friday as probable for the team's game against Kansas City despite suffering concussions last weekend. Coles and Smith, both injured in the Jets' 16-13 overtime loss at Oakland on Sunday, fully participated in practice for the first time this week on Friday. "Right now, what (the coaches) are doing at this point is basically doing what the doctors say," said Coles, who's also been nursing a strained thigh since training camp. "They went beyond the call of duty to basically bring in doctors and people like that to not only give us tests, but to talk to us, examine us and make sure things are all right. Basically, it's the doctors' decision. I don't think they will put us in a position that would jeopardize our long-term health." Analysis: Coles, who leads the team with 30 catches for 369 yards and four touchdowns, was hit hard after trying to catch a pass late in the second half of New York's 16-13 overtime loss at Oakland. Coles came up with a facemask full of grass and appeared a bit dazed, but was able to return despite the injury. Coach Eric Mangini confirmed Thursday that Coles suffered a concussion -- his third head injury in less than two years. Coles angrily refused to discuss the injury Thursday, citing team policy, but spoke Friday to deflect injury-related questions directed at Smith. It appears as though Coles will play Week 8, so treat him as a No. 2 Fantasy WR. If anything changes, we will let you know.
BeeR
Wondering whether or not to start a Jet is always such a freakin treat.
Chadman
Thanks, guys. It's not so important as Fanball already listed both Romo and Holmes as OUT this week, giving me two options to add to the roster.
scottyjets
It sounds like Coles is in and Cotch is a maybe. Either way I wouldn't dress Stuckey. You gotta think gang-green will be able to build a lead against the injury-plagued Chiefs and will be running most of the game. Even so, I think like Brad Smith over Stuckey if I had to pick one.
