jjpro11
Does anyone on this site like ANY announcer? All I ever see is people bashing. Now it's Joe Buck? Wow. i already said replace him with the announcer that did the steelers game with aikman, dick stockton and make aikman and stockton the #1 fox team. joe buck's ego would never let him be a #2, so he would probably leave football all together. a guy i like and that i think will be moving up the ranks at cbs soon is gus johnson. he brings excitement in a good way to the booth. enberg and randy cross still do a good job. Gumbel and Dierdorf arent bad either. Kevin Harlan and Rich Gannon are my least favorite on cbs, right behind nantz and simms.

He sometimes gets a little TOO fired up for my tastes. He's still pretty good and by no means am I going to bash on the guy.
MTSuper7
I think Tom Hammond does a good job, though I'm not sure if he's doing NFL games this season. As for the worst, we can't leave Bryant Gumbel off this list. Is NFL Network bringing him back this season?

He's been bashed for a good number of years now. Where have you been?
hooknladder
Still waiting for someone to name an announcer they like . . . Al Michaels is one of the best play-by-play guys of all time. John Madden is an American icon.
hooknladder
Joe Buck was acting like a Biatch a couple weeks back with Pam Oliver.
STL Fan
Now we're talkin'! This is the first one of these threads where people are actually talking about who they like instead of just bashing everyone who says something you don't like. For the record, I personally like Tirico, Buck and Michaels as lead guys, and Aikman and Dierdorf as color guys. Not-so-favorites: B. Gumbel in a landslide, Collinsworth as a color guy, and though I agree he's an icon, Madden has lost more than a little off his fastball. I also don't care for Kornheiser as a color guy (love PTI) but I don't have the venom that most do for him. Simpsons Comic-Book Guy voice - "Best announcer thread ever."
