shwillkid55
I had an 18 pt lead and L. Evans going tonite vs. my opponent's M. Lynch. L. Evans pts. = 0 (not a single catch) ; M. Lynch goes for 22. I lose by four and miss a playoff bye. Would love to hear YOUR all time "bad beat story"
csrulz16
I guess most people can say Desean Jackson, including me. I would have won if he didn't drop the ball.
thenflblog
I had two bad losses this year, both MNF games: 1) In Week 7, I had Brandon Marshall and my opponent had Matt Cassel and Wes Welker. In that game, Marshall had two or three receptions that were called back because of penalties, and Cassel threw a late, meaningless TD pass to Welker (NE beat DEN 41-7), I lost by less than 2 points. 2) In Week 3, my opponent had Nate Kaeding, who hit a meaningless 49 yard field goal at the end of the game to beat me (SD beat NYJ 48-29) Had I won one of those two, I'd probably be in the playoffs. The Holy Roller
I'm playing at a $5-10 limit table. I have QJ and limp in. Flop comes J-J-J!!! I lose to a royal flush. Oh. Football bad beats! Too many to list but almost had one last night. In HOT I'm up by 4 something points and have Trent Edwards going. My opponent is done. Edwards three first quarter picks sorta got my blood rushing. Edited November 18, 2008 by The Holy Roller
FWmaker
GAVE a bad beat this wkend. I was ahead by 3pts going into Dal/Was game Sunday night with no one else going for my squad. He had one player left to go....Nick Folk of Dallas. Thought I was dead in the water. Score: Dal 14, Was 10 -- Folk with 2 PATs. Dallas had oppty to go for FG late in game, but decided against it for field position isses. Chalk up the W for me. Bad Beat Given!
Sammy D.
If Lynch would have gotten in the end zone on that run in the 4th instead of getting stopped at the 1/2 yard line, I win. Another notable one from this year, the Oak-NYJ game, my opp. had Favre, Coles and TJ going and Feely missed the field goal, but Oak coach called a timeout, and let him try again and make it, well after the stats compiled in the OT from his 3 guys, and yardage gained against my NYJ defense, I lose by 6 points. Nice. Thanks for that.
T_bone65
Last year in the AFC Championship game of HFA (32 team dynasty league) I lost by less then 1 point. I had the choce of Chris Crocker and Josh Bullocks at safety for the Monday night game between Saints and Falcons. All i need is 1 freakin tackle so I decide to go with Josh Bulocks since he had been doing well all year. He gets deactivated during pre-game warmups and I lose by less then 1 point and this was the 2nd year in a row I lost in the AFC Championship game by less then 2 points
Goon General
One year I was the highest scoring team in my league by more than 200 points. Going into the last game of the season I was 6-6 and needed to win to make the playoffs. All 6 of my losses came against teams who scored their highest the week they played me. Going into Monday night's game I was down by 8 and had Muhsin Muhammed who was money that year. He pulled his hammy in warmups and didn't play. Donald Hayes played in his spot and had 120 yards and a TD. If I had made the playoffs I would have easily won the Super Bowl.
detlef
Here's a football bad beat, but not FF. None the less, it stings like a mother. Before I'd ever had access to on-line gambling. A buddy goes to Tahoe so I send him with $10 and 7 or 8 team parlay. I forget which, but whatever one pays about 100 to 1. I do remember that, had it covered, I'd have won $1040. At any rate, all my Sunday bets cover and I've got Pit -5 and the under v the Falcons on MNF. Two minutes to go, the under is completely in the bag and Pit is leading by 13 pts. ATL scores a late TD just after the two minute warning. No biggie, still up by 6. ATL still has time outs left. They kick off and Pit botches it so they end up on their own 10 yard line. Still, that's OK, run the ball 3x. Make ATL blow their timeouts, punt and hold them, I win a grand. Here's the thing, they end up losing yards so, on 4th, rather than punting, they take the freaking safety! Pit wins by 4, I lose my bet. The worst FF beat I can remember is making the play-offs in 3 leagues and my team in all of them was just peaking silly at the end of the season. Everyone was saying it was mine to lose. First round of the play-offs, nothing changes, all my guys are doing their thing 100 yds and at least a TD for my backs, QBs getting 2-3 TDs and decent yards, PKs getting 3s... I put up scores that are about as high as anyone has scored all year in all of them. Thing is, that's the week that Joe Horn got 4 TDs, and his QB threw 5. I faced both of them in two leagues. One dude's kicker had like 5-6 FGs. Just totally insane things like that and I lost in all three leagues. It was crazy. Of course, the other semis in all of them were just plain ugly and I would have completely murdered either team. WildTurkey
Last year I was undefeated, first game of the FF playoffs. Brian Westbrook takes a knee, I lost by 2 points. To my younger brother. Out of the playoffs. Maybe there is Karma ... I was down 18 last night with Lynch to play. He got it for me. I won by 1 point. Also, my opponent had the Steelers D. John Crapper
Delt this one out in week 9 this year. I lost after the Monday night game 141.12 to 140.16. A couple days later the NFL changes one of Devon Hesters plays from a catch to a run play. My opponent has Hester and we are a ppr league. Yahoo retroactivly changed the scores and I won 140.16 to his new 140.12. I won by .04 points to an NLF play review on a Wednesday night. The real sad part about it was the guy who lost all of a sudden started acting like a 5th grader and pissed me and everyone else off with his bitching. It's perfectly fine to take a bad beat and get pissed, but he's still whining about it. If he shows up on Sunday i shall shower him with Kotex pads and Pamprin.
