darin3
Here are some interesting DB names that finished the season ranked between 31-40, per "typical" scoring. #36 - Troy Polamalu (PIT): There are those that'll argue that Polamalu is one of the best safeties in the game, perhaps one of the best overall players in the game. He didn't miss a single game in 2008, and yet only compiled 166.5 fantasy points, so just about 10 points per game. That's a low-level DB2, for all intents and purposes. The Steeler D will again be dynamic, hard-hitting and at times completely dominating, so I wouldn't expect his numbers to lower any more. In fact, I feel very confident in saying he'll be up in the top-15 in the '09 season. #42 - Brandon Carr (KCC): Carr proved to be one of the best and under-rated defensive rookies of the 2008 season. He joined a very young but very talented secondary, and from the get-go was an important link. He scored in double digits in 10 of 16 games. The CB on the other side - also a rookie in '08, also named Brandon (Flowers) - is regarded as one of the best young talents in the game. He's more of a "shutdown" corner than Carr, so Carr could continue to see plenty of opportunities at making plays and/or tackles. I see Carr scoring in the top-25 in 2009. #49 - Melvin Bullitt (IND): Bullitt prospered in the 2008 season with Bob Sanders nursing injuries. Will Sanders continue to ache in 2009? It's a risky proposition to say no, but something tells me Sanders will be on the field a lot next year. That, and changes to the Colt defense schematically, and you have a recipe for Bullitt's numbers to take a serious dive. Of course, if you're a Sanders owner in dynasty leagues, you should make all efforts to get Bullitt. Edited March 14, 2009 by darin3
keggerz
here is another that will be way down on lists since he was injured and missed his teams final 11 games TRACEY PORTER CB NO SAINTS...probably ranks around 170th among DBs last year ...check his weekly average PPG and he should be at or better than top 20 with what he did as a rook in his first 5 games Edited March 16, 2009 by keggerz
Tford
I think one of the more obvious ones has to be Richard Marshall CAR CB Marshall has put up good to great numbers as a nickle corner, special teams guy for two years now. Ken Lucas is gone and Marshall should take his spot. Carolina is a team that should continue to run over their opponents, forcing them to pass more often. I like Marshall to get a decent uptick in stats just based on opporunity.

Most everyone who does own him has been waiting awhile for Lucas to finally move on.

It's about time he started. John Fox takes loyalty to veterans to the extreme.
