Julio or White

I have Julio but last week I definitely would have preferred having Roddy. I guess like everything it depends, but if you already have a dependable RB #1 or #2 you shoot for the moon with Julio. I think it will flip flop week to week depending on the coverage and what opportunities that presents.

And was it just me, or were most of the passes to Julio on MNF uncatchable ... of course with the exception of the TD pass that flew right through his hands. Bama fans, you KNOW you saw that a bunch when he was in school. The guy is a freak but he always had maddening drops on occasion. Having said that the other passes thrown to him were wide fast wobblers or in the dirt.

I should know, needing only a few catches out of my boy I watched every pass thrown his way with an eagle eye.

After weeks of julio tearing defenses apart, they finally succeeded at taking him out of the game, and look what happened. I don't think defenses will be able to do that all the time, or will do that well against julio regardless. They have to respect everyone in the passing game.

Also remember that julio would have had a good game if not for a couple drops, including an endzone drop. Then Ryan just went into pick your poison mode (hopefullly to open up more holes for the running game who need help).

I would not expect this to continue. The Falcons still plan to showcase Julio. Right now I think they're just reminding reams that he isn't the only one they gotta try to take away.

(ETA: but I think roddy is in for another great ppr year though)

So far, Julio has been targeted 16 times and White 19 times. That's 24 more targets for White over the course of a full season, if things continue as they are now. I don't expect the gap to grow more than that, and may even be closer to equal for both. This is barring injuries, of course, with Julio being more of an injury risk and likely also being hampered more than White if hurt but playing.

You also have to consider that Julio's week two stinker was due in large part to Champ Bailey, and his week one stellar performance was against an awful Chiefs defense. There aren't many elite shutdown cornerbacks of Bailey's level in the NFL. Outside of playing against one of them, I think Julio wins the other matchups, so he'll have more big game opportunities than stinker games. White doesn't seem to get shut down much ever, but his ceiling is not as high as Julio's. I agree with WildTurkey, if you already have a dependable WR on your roster, then Julio's upside fits well. If you already have an upside guy like VJax then White fits well.
