delusions of grandeur
Before the season started, I felt like this was going to be a transition year for FF with a changing of the guard of old names to new ones, but the NFL as a whole seems to be going through a transition year. Other than the Falcons, Niners, Texans and to a lesser extent Pats and Ravens, I could see things going one way or the other for almost every team in the league. This is not meant to be a power ranking of how they've done so far, but predictions of if you think they'll keep playing well, turn it around, or fall into a downward spiral So who you think are the contenders and pretenders at this point? (Realistic, not homer) playoff seed predictions? AFC East New England Patriots (3-2) New York Jets (2-3) Miami Dolphins (2-3) Buffalo Bills (2-3) AFC North Baltimore Ravens (4-1) Cincinnati Bengals (3-2) Pittsburgh Steelers (2-4) Cleveland Browns (0-5) AFC South Houston Texans (5-0) Indianapolis Colts (2-2) Tennessee Titans (2-4) Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4) AFC West San Diego Chargers (3-2) Denver Broncos (2-3) Oakland Raiders (1-3) Kansas City Chiefs (1-4) NFC East Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) New York Giants (3-2) Dallas Cowboys (2-2) Washington Redskins (2-3) NFC North Minnesota Vikings (4-1) Chicago Bears (4-1) Green Bay Packers (2-3) Detroit Lions (1-3) NFC South Atlanta Falcons (5-0) Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-3) Carolina Panthers (1-4) New Orleans Saints (1-4) NFC West Arizona Cardinals (4-1) San Francisco 49ers (4-1) St. Louis Rams (3-2) Seattle Seahawks (3-2)
Tripleshot
AFC East New England Patriots (3-2) Contender New York Jets (2-3) Miami Dolphins (2-3) Buffalo Bills (2-3) AFC North Baltimore Ravens (4-1) Contender Cincinnati Bengals (3-2) Contender? - someone in the AFC has to get a wildcard Pittsburgh Steelers (2-4) would normally say Contender, but have dug a deep hole. Still possible though. Cleveland Browns (0-5) AFC South Houston Texans (5-0) Contender Indianapolis Colts (2-2) Tennessee Titans (2-4) Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4) AFC West San Diego Chargers (3-2) Contender/Pretender - could go either way. Regardless, if contender, are a playoff bust Denver Broncos (2-3) Contender Oakland Raiders (1-3) Kansas City Chiefs (1-4) NFC East Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) Pretender - Vick doesn't really make them better overall New York Giants (3-2) Contender Dallas Cowboys (2-2) Pretender, will get in their own way Washington Redskins (2-3) NFC North Minnesota Vikings (4-1) Contender? - this year's version of 2011 Niners light Chicago Bears (4-1) Contender Green Bay Packers (2-3) Pretender - for all that went right last year, it's going wrong this year Detroit Lions (1-3) NFC South Atlanta Falcons (5-0) Contender Tampa Bay Buccaneers (1-3) Carolina Panthers (1-4) New Orleans Saints (1-4) NFC West Arizona Cardinals (4-1) Pretender - bad offense and o-line exposes them San Francisco 49ers (4-1) Contender St. Louis Rams (3-2) Pretender Seattle Seahawks (3-2) Contender
rajncajn
AFC East Pretenders - Everybody not named New England Patriots AFC North Pretenders - Everybody not named Baltimore Ravens AFC South Pretenders - Everybody not named Houston Texans AFC West Pretenders - Everybody NFC East Contenders - New York Giants (3-2) Pretenders - Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) I do think Washington makes some noise in this division, but they're still a ways away NFC North Contenders - Minnesota Vikings (4-1) Chicago Bears (4-1) Green Bay Packers (2-3) NFC South Contenders - Atlanta Falcons (5-0) New Orleans will make a game of it, but it's probably going to be too little, too late. NFC West Pretenders - Everybody not named San Francisco 49ers
