MonsRevis
I am the commissioner of a 10 team league. One of the teams in the league posted 2 or 3 messages on the message board about players he was looking to trade away. The offers started pouring in. Multiple owner came to me since they did not know the other owner personally and asked if he was active and why he wouldnt reply or counter any trade sent to him. I brought it to his attention and he got pissed off and told me that declining the trade was his response. I said that it's common courtesy that if you are going to initiate a trade disscsion on the message boards to at least counter the offer or respond saying why you chose to turn it down? he then began to curse at me some more. Am I wrong with my thought process here?
Jackass
He has no obligation to counter or offer an explanation.
SecondString
He's entitled to be an ***hole if he wants to be, and you are correct in pointing out to him that there is an etiquette protocol. Doesn't mean he has to follow it. Seems like he would figure out though, that his behavior will inhibit his ability to make future trades when he want to.

BA Baracus
It annoys the hell out of me when people just declune and dont say honda. If you dont have time to write 2 sentences explaining why you declined then you dont have time to manage a FF team. Its like mothertruckers who do the speed limit in the left lane on the freeway. Is it legal? Yes. Is it right? Hell no.

Is it legal? Yes. Is it right? Hell no. That's not nearly as annoying as an owner who doesn't reply at all to a trade offer. I'd rather just get the "no" and move on than wonder if the guy is even thinking about it or not. Had that happen again this year where a guy never responded for almost a week. I finally revoked the offer and made a trade with someone else - but it just pisses me off when I don't hear anything at all for days. Then someone else called him on it later on our league message board. His response was "Well, if you make me an offer worth responding to I'll respond." I offered him Lacy for Jordy Nelson - this was maybe a couple games before Rogers got hurt. Guess that wasn't worth a response.
whomper
As said above. Not responding pisses me off big time, responding by declining without a response doesn't bother me at all.
SecondString
When I send a trade offer, I always hit them up with a text and/or e-mail along with the formal offer on the league site. That way I know that they are aware of the offer even if they don't go on the league page very often (our league has a couple of those). I only leave the offer open for a couple of days, no way they're holding me hostage wondering what they're going to do for any longer than that. If it's an owner who I think may not respond quickly, whether it's true or not, I will add a note to the effect of "I have another possibility for this player with another owner, but would rather do this trade with you...let me know.", hopefully creating a little more urgency.
