Nabb
Is there anyone who is going to bench a regular starter because of possible bad weather? For example, I'm considering benching Brees and/or M. Colston and/or E. Lacy tomorrow because its supposed to be terrible weather in those games. Though it would be hard to bench Lacy of those 3. Just curious.

MustOfBeenDrunk
Rain & wet fields favors the offense especially passing because they know the routes their running & its harder for the defense to react , now wind favors the defense in the passing game

Just like Shady in the snow making defenders look silly.

SpinalTapp
I found some interesting weather related research online this morning (see link at end of post). While the research is nearly a year old, I believe the data is still relevant today. Most of us know that wind is the key performance killer. For me, it was interesting to see hard research that pinpointed a specific windspeed (15mph+) at which coaches seemed to pivot away from the passing game toward the running game. Looking at the weather channel a few minutes ago - the Panthers/Saints game appears to be the only game facing wind speeds at or above 15mph (perhaps others can check and report). If you buy into the data, this would be the game which may merit some stud benching consideration. I do stress "some consideration" because there are so many possible outcomes in a bad weather game (many of which are good) that benching a stud like Brees for a reach play like Cousins may simply not be worth it. http://www.advancednflstats.com/2012/01/weather-effects-on-passing.html
