GoldenEagle81
Is this guy going to be the starter in AZ soon? Seems like he is hands down the best talent in that backfield. Thoughts?
Chloroform Rx
I posted the same thing already and got close to nothing in response. I ended up trying to trade Keenan Allen for him straight up, the guy rejected it. Said he wasn't letting him go. I wish I had him.
gilthorp
There have been several discussions about him and/or Ellington and C Johnson. Have you looked for them? Arians is on record of saying he is not a big fan of giving rookies too much and not even too soon....just too much. 10-12 touches...maybe a bit more. One TD week 1...probably a fluke. Good week 2, but the success of this team rides on Palmer and one missed backfield blocking assignment sinks their season.
Dont Rookie Me........
So does that mean that Ellington is better at blocking than Johnson? Asking out of ignorance not sarcasm.
ABearWithFurniture
So does that mean that Ellington is better at blocking than Johnson? Wouldn't think so if any of the past few years is any indication...
gilthorp
My response was not to compare blocking, but to mention the risk-averse approach the HC has stated he is taking with a rookie RB. Perhaps the potential changes his mind, but he's not going to be given too much as the OP had asked if he's going to be the starter. I think starter/backup won't mean much in that backfield when it's all said and done.
the outlaw
it's all "coach speak" (so, take it with a grain of salt), but apparently, per bruce arians his role will "grow" throughout the season (see rotoworld post from 09/22)... http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/10404/david-johnson i really do wish they would give this kid a bigger look/role, though, because i have him in about 50% of my leagues, and may even have to start him in a flex slot this weekend due to attrition of other players! squirrelmastr21
If Chris Johnson averages 2-3 yards a carry then Palmer will be facing a lot of pressure when the defense starts pinning their ears back.
