  1. I'm a writer for footballnation.com and played in their experts league, 12 team PPR. Here's my Week 16 starting lineup that won the championship: QB - Andrew Luck RB - Ray Rice RB - Trent Richardson WR - Julio Jones WR - Wes Welker TE - Dennis Pitta Flex - James Jones K - Stephen Gostkowski Def - Colts In my biggest money league (dynasty) I won 3rd prize, and in my work league lost in the championship game. Overall was a fun year!

  3. Can't wait for the first team that decides to say screw victory formation, goes two minute offense and ram another TD down Schiano's gullet. If I were an opposing coach, that's exactly what I would do... since he's not stopping until the final whistle, neither am I. Gonna run that score up on the Bucs and not feel one ounce of bad about it.
  4. This is a great post! And to think I was contemplating dropping Brent Celek to pick up an extra kicker. I'll return the favor and write my own article on a Week 1 under-performing fantasy starter, and best of all, it'll be short: Want to know why I am not dropping Ray Rice? Answer: Because I'm not dumb. You all can thank me later for my profound knowledge.
  5. Playing devil's advocate, I do recall pretty bad weather conditions for a certain Patriots-Titans matchup earlier this year... windy and snowing. Moss, Welker, and Brady pasted 59 points on the Titans in that one, and there were lots of people kicking themselves for avoiding that one. Just saying... Sometimes the weather helps out with receiving, because in a driving snowstorm, the the receivers are the ones who know where they're going, and the defenders can have difficulty since they are solely trying to "read and react". Also, I think teams tend to lay off one-on-one coverage in bad weather conditions for that very reason... relying more on zone coverage. Good WRs and QBs can still pick apart defenses in that kind of weather. Unless you have something else equal to Holmes or Miller and playing in more ideal conditions, I certainly wouldn't sit them for inferior players playing elsewhere.
  6. Hi Hugh! Need some help with my lineup this week... I need to start TWO of the following players in a PPR league: RB - Felix Jones vs. SEA RB - Ricky Williams @ NYJ RB - Lesean McCoy vs. NYG WR - Anquan Boldin vs. CAR WR - Johnny Knox vs. CLE Thanks!
  7. Team 1 definitely gets better with this. Celek and Bowe would automatically start for this team in place of Royal and Heap.
  8. I would do it... you get a top flight RB, and even though you lose Rodgers, you still have Flacco, who has put up pretty decent numbers. I'd pull the trigger.
  9. Hey everyone... I'm in a 12 team PPR keeper league in which we keep 7 players. My record right now is 5-2. My current roster is: QB - Ben Roethlisberger, Kurt Warner RB - Kevin Smith, Felix Jones, Tashard Choice, Julius Jones, Larry Johnson, Lesean McCoy WR - Reggie Wayne, Wes Welker, Anquan Boldin, Torry Holt, Johnny Knox TE - Heath Miller, Tony Scheffler K - Ryan Longwell Def - Baltimore, Arizona I can trade Anquan Boldin for Greg Jennings... should I pull the trigger? Jennings has been crappy, but Boldin hasn't been that much better. Looking at the schedule, Boldin has better matchups down the stretch, but thinking about the future, Jennings is much younger than Boldin, and will probably rebound back to form next year. Thanks for your help!
  10. I think he signed a 6 year deal with Oakland... so, something like 4.5 years left on his sentence, maybe 3.5 for good behavior.
  11. 12 team, PPR, standard scoring: QB - Phillip Rivers RB - Adrian Peterson RB - Reggie Bush WR - Dwayne Bowe WR - Mike Sims-Walker WR - Mario Manningham TE - Dallas Clark K - Lawrence Tynes Def - Eagles Bench: QB - David Garrard RB - Julius Jones RB - Felix Jones RB - Darren McFadden WR - Donnie Avery WR - Jeremy Maclin WR - Eddie Royal TE - Jermichael Finley One of the worst 5-0 teams I've ever had... I look at it and still wonder how I've won, and how I'm the #1 scoring team in the league.
  12. I think everyone's point is, if a player like Desean gets hurt, has a herpes outbreak, or develops a sudden fear of wearing tight pants, you'd hear about it... it'd be on NFL.com, ESPN.com, rotowire, huddle news, fanball, or WebMD if he has a herpes outbreak or a bout of swine flu. Don't probably need to ask... However, if you see "so-and-so had a Herpes outbreak and is questionable to return", you could ask "is it just a cold sore, or like full on genital warts?" and get clarification from someone watching the game. But I digress...
  13. Honestly, the Raider roster has talent... it's just becoming an enormous waste with Russell at QB, Cable at HC, and Davis at the helm. Russell isn't worth a backup's minimum salary, let alone the huge cap figure he has now. Because of him, teams know they can stack 8 or 9 in the box and stop the only thing the Raiders could do effectively against a normal defensive set, and that's run the ball. McFadden, Bush, Zach Miller, Chaz Shillens, Louis Murphy, all guys who you could argue would be pretty decent on other teams, some of them might even be great (McFadden, Bush, Miller, specifically). But because they're Raiders, their careers are being stunted.
  14. Thanks guys... I'm leaning Dayne, Galloway, Shockey at this point. Anyone else think Gage in there instead of one of the other 3? Thanks again!
