  1. Venables has to go. We were supposed to have a top 5 defense this year. I'm not sure we were in the top 50.
  2. We'll never know. I'm sure they're drained and I doubt their magic could work twice in a row.
  3. Exactly! Now you see why we're not that down after this loss. We had to sit through Howard "Smellmyburger" and John Blake. This is a down year for OU and we still made it to a BCS game. All in all, I'm very happy with our season.
  4. Just a reminder...OU did win the NC in 2000. OU played for the NC in '04 and '05. How does that constitute disappearing from the national scene for years? I would think most teams would do anything to play for the NC 3 times in 6 years.
  5. I think it's "sad" that Boise State had it won for most of the game. They let us back in with the 2 turnovers. I don't know what else to say on this. They beat us...in every way imaginable. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was their secondary. But it didn't matter because Thompson couldn't hit the broad side of a barn Monday night. They were excellent against the run. OU has a very good run game and they stopped it. The only thing I'm truly disappointed in is not getting to see BSU advance to play another game. If they play like they did Monday, I think they beat WF, Notre Dame, and possibly Louisville. Even though I didn't like how it ended, that was a game for the ages.
  6. I don't know which OU team you were watching, but we hardly dominated in the 80's. '85-'87 was great, but OU football was far from form in the other years. I'm assuming from your post that you think Boise State sucks. They actually impressed me. They were ranked higher than OU going into this game. I feel OU wins that game more times than not, but it's in no way "sad" that they won. They have a really good football team and OU didn't play up to their potential. That's what happens in January. I fully expect Ohio State to win on the 8th. But if they play like OU did, they will get beat. Call it sad if you want, but we're talking top 10 teams here. Anything can happen.
  7. I guess my expectations are just different. I never expected OU to go to a BCS game after losing Bomar and then Peterson. Unlike previous years, I'm not disappointed in this season. I think we overachieved in a lot of areas. It is nice to know that the rest of the nation has extremely high expectations of our football program.
  8. I thought you were calling OU a proven loser. That just didn't make sense to me.
  9. I don't believe for one minute that Boise State is a better team. I think OU wins that game 90% of the time...at least. That being said, BSU looked great. I was very impressed with them. I never thought they would be able to stop our run game. When they did in the beginning, I really thought they would wear down in the second half. I was wrong on both counts and I give them tons of credit. They have a very good football team. I wasn't really disappointed in this loss. OU had a great year despite some serious obstacles. Paul Thompson is a great guy and a great leader. But he is a division 2 QB...maybe 1-AA at best. We simply had no other options and he did a good job this year. But his success is completely dependent upon the run game. Boise State took that away and forced Thompson to beat them. He couldn't. I think a good passing offense would absolutely torch Boise's secondary. Unfortunately, we don't have one. The trick plays were brilliant. OU should have pulled a few to get the run game going. I don't think Boise State outprepared us. I'm not even sure they outcoached us. But they certainly outexecuted us and that's what it takes to win. The coaches cannot play for the players. There were lots of missed assignments last night and BSU took advantage of them. But I really think this loss falls on the shoulders of Thompson. He had a really bad game. Our receivers were open all night and he just couldn't hit them. I look forward to seeing what this kid from Michigan can do for us. This was probably the best game I've ever seen. Boise State is the real deal.
  10. Nevermind. It's on channel 95 but for some reason the menu says "upcoming Lakers @ Nets."
  11. I've got DirecTv and I cannot find the HD broadcast.
  12. I'm up 18 pts with C.J. left. Opponent has Harrison. So as long as Harrison doesn't outscore C.J. by 18...I'm in the Superbowl.
  13. Does this do anything to Stevens' value? I've got nothing at TE. I currently have McMichael, but have thought of picking up V. Davis.
  14. From Yahoo...not like it's credible. "Update: Horn (groin) has missed practiced all week and is expected to miss Sunday's game against Dallas, ESPN's John Clayton reports. Recommendation: Devery Henderson figures to start in Horn's place, while Terrance Copper could wind up getting the nod in Marques Colston's spot, as Colston is '50-50' for Sunday's game. We'll monitor Horn's status for any changes, but it appears you'll need to look elsewhere for a receiver in Week 14." I thought Henderson would replace Colston. Any thoughts? Right now I have Henderson in the lineup. Being a late game Sunday, this could really hurt me if he doesn't play. I have no one playing Monday.
