In the movie "It's a Wonderful Life" George Bailey transitions from

thinking SUCCESS to thinking SIGNIFICANCE. Early on George had his life

all planned out. He said: "I know what I'm gonna do tomorrow, and the next

day, and the next year, and the year after that...I'm shakin' the dust of

this crummy little town off my feet and I'm gonna see the world...Then, I'm

comin' back here to go to college and see what they know. And then I'm

gonna build things. I'm gonna build airfields, I'm gonna build skyscrapers

a hundred stories high, I'm gonna build bridges a mile long..."

But by the end of the movie George's perspective changed. He was given a

chance to see what the world would have been like if had he never lived. He

had a chance to see how his life was connected to so many others. George

learned that having a wonderful life is about finding SIGNIFICANCE.

It's the same journey we must make if we desire a wonderful life.

Transition our goals:

from Success to Significance

from Wealth to Generosity

from Achievement to Service

from Status to Relationships

You must come to terms with the notion that you're NOT a failure if your

life doesn't turn out the way YOU dreamed. You have to trust that God's

dreams for you are better than your own.

Jesus told his followers that He wanted them to live like the Good

Samaritan (Luke 10:25-37) by leveraging their personal resources wisely and

having hearts as big as His.

TRUE SUCCESS is doing the best you can with what you have for God's

purposes and not your own.
