FishFreak
I just don't get it. Chambers should have much better numbers than he does. He's been targeted 108 times in 11 games, that's almost ten times per game. That's more than guys like Walker, Harrison, Wayne, etc. Yet, he only has 44 receptions. I really thought he was going to have a good year and the Dolphins have been pass happy most of the year.
Riffraff
Targeted doesn't always mean catchable. Recent article (Nov 30th): http://www.fflivewire.com/Article.asp?ID=11302006trl8383qm
DMD
As that article points out, the Dolphins with the Mularkey offense is not throwing deep. But he is not all that different from where he has been every year: Through the first 11 games of the season Year Tar C# CYD CTD2003 85 40 573 62004 86 49 607 52005 99 45 599 52006 110 44 490 4 Chambers is no different than he has really ever been, he just had unrealistic expectations placed on him this year because he had a 238 yard game last year and ended on a high note because he had Linehan for an OC and Frerotte as a QB and a very good rushing game with Williams and Brown. This year he has an offense that does not throw deep nearly as often. But Chambers is just a good possession sort of receiver that has more fantasy value from catching touchdowns in about half his games usually than from yardage. He is in his sixth year and the only time he had 1000 yards was last year thanks to his 238 yard game. Otherwise he was pretty much in step with all his other years.
