Hat Trick
From the KC Star: The NFL is offering one free week of the NFL Network to Time Warner and Cablevision, two of the nation’s largest cable carriers that don’t carry the NFL Network. The week being offered for free would be from Dec. 24 through Dec. 30, but it will not include the one NFL game scheduled Dec. 30 between the Giants and Washington on the NFL Network. However, the free week would mean that Time Warner could show the Texas Bowl featuring Kansas State and Rutgers on the NFL Network, and the Insight Bowl featuring Minnesota and Texas Tech. That would be huge news for K-State fans in the area with Time Warner. A Time Warner representative said the company was reviewing the proposal. No NFL games the week they do it Now that's gonna leave a mark Edited December 13, 2006 by Hat Trick
Easy n Dirty
I read this somewhere also, I think it's motivated as much as anything as a way to promote the NFL Network in the NYC metro area for a one week free trial, and they chose the week that includes Rutgers' bowl game. CarryTheRock
If they reall wanted to make a stir they should have it when there is an NFL game on that people would not have been able to see.
Big John
Or to promote the fact that the NFL Network carries College Bowl games, as an outsider would think they just covered professional football.
