10g_DBA
I assume you're talking about a DLP or LCD set? CRT RPTVs don't have lamps. The CRT guns, if properly maintained and not run in "torch mode" will last the lifetime of the set. CRTs are very rarely the thing that goes wrong when RPTVs break down. Check this thread. It's huge, but some great technical info buried within: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=695922 Edited March 17, 2007 by 10g_DBA
Ursa Majoris
how often have you had to change the lamp- do you get them online Not had to....yet. Since my TV is no longer made, I'm anticipating trouble getting one. The maker was only supplying those that could prove their's was broken last time I checked. Egret
I just switched this week to LCD from rear projection CRT. I was tired of messing with convergence, focus and cleaning the guns. It looks like you can buy just about any of them here. I'm not sure how their prices are, but it's a start.

montster
i bought my tv (samsung 50-inch dlp) in july, and the lamp failed a week after the super bowl. thankfully, it was still under warranty, so the visit and lamp were free, but it took a week for them to come out.
