Savage Beatings
This is coming up in one of our FF Leagues... so just looking for opinions from the Vets here. If you're conducting a slow draft on MFL, and have a timer set at say, 4 hours for each pick, what (if any) penalty should there be for someone who misses the pick? Note: This is a pretty laid back league and isn't really into making the owner who misses the pick pay through the nose as some kind of retribution for making the rest of the league wait or anything like that. But on a practical level, what makes the most sense in this case, considering that one or a bunch of pre-selects could fall right after the missed pick timer expires. Should the pick be forfeited completely? Should the owner have to wait until the end of the entire draft to make up the pick? Should the owner have to wait until the end of the current round to make up the pick? Should the owner PM his make up pick to the Commish, but have to wait until the current pick on the clock goes through? Should the owner just PM his make up pick and have the Commish make it as soon as he receives it? Anything else that makes decent sense? The draft should continue, and owners make picks (probably as fast as they can) and when that owner finally gets back, he can draft an available player. Can you insert an owner at any point in an online MFL draft, though?
Zooty
Can you insert an owner at any point in an online MFL draft, though? The commish has to go in and do it manually I would go with the last option The owner just PM his make up pick and have the Commish make it as soon as he receives it

My league has a slow draft as well, and what we do if someone misses a draft pick (which is also how the NFL handles it) is simply skip him and allow others to continue drafting in their respective order. However, whenever momo decides to log on and find his draft pick was skipped he is allowed to draft a player at any time. NFL Draft Policy: If a team doesn't make a decision within its allotted time, the team still can submit its selection at any time after its time is up, but the next team can pick before it, thus possibly stealing a player the late team may have been eyeing. Seems fair to me. In fact.. ..in 2003 the Vikings missed their allotted time for the 7th overall pick! The Jaguars and Panthers then quickly rushed to grab the player they didn't know would have been there if not for the Vikings FUBAR mistake.
