Johnny2247
I am in a 10 team league, 1QB, 2RB, 3WR. 1TE, 1K. 3IDP, standard scoring, no PPR. My 3 keepers are Ronnie Brown, M. Jones-Drew, and Roy Williams. I draft 3rd. The other RB keepers that won't be available are: F. Gore L. Johnson J. Addai W. Parker T. Henry L. Maroney T. Jones W. McGahee B. Jacobs M. Barber I would like to draft RB, WR, RB/WR with my first 3 picks(3,18,23). I assume LT and SJax will go 1 and 2. Which RB should I draft with the 3rd pick? I had Alexander last year and feel he is too risky of a pick. I was thinking of drafting Rudi Johnson and then coming back with the18th pick hoping to get a solid WR. I would then pick the best available WR/RB with the 23rd pick. Any thoughts on picking Rudi over Alexander or Westbrook?

Scare Tactics
well imo, you already have some risky rb's with potential upside in Brown & MJD, so i wouldnt play risky/upside again with Alexander, Id take the safe pick in Rudy
craiginthecapital
No PPR means that Wbrook isn't the answer, so I'd take him out of the equation right off the top. Plus, if you're really worried about injury risks, he has the worst record of any of the guys you're considering. So between Rudi and Alexander I think you have a basic strategy choice: Rudy is the workhorse back that's going to grind out the same numbers he has for the last 2 seasons, which Alexander has risks (age, injury), but is running with something to prove on a team that needs him to be a star a lot more than Cincy needs Rudy to be. I like the Alexander pick here for this season because I think you're going to want a bit of spark at RB with Brown as the alternative. I think Rudi will help get you into the postseason, but Alexander's more the type of back that helps you win the postseason.
Johnny2247
Thanks again, I think I will roll the dice with Alex.
