Jessman
Ok, I'm in the middle of my dynasty email draft. It's only 4 rounds... I have the 3rd pick took Lynch, AP & CJ went first. Brandon Jackson went 4th. I'm on the clock again with the 5th pick. Here' s my roster: Bulger, A. Smith Brown, Maroney, Portis & Lynch TO, Fitz, Jennings Scheffler Rackers Panthers D that's the core parts. Here is my spot. I can take JaMarcus right here and be done with it. Or, I can take Greg Olsen and be set at TE for the next 10 years. I also have Portis who I am deathly afraid of. I can move him now for the 7 & 8th pick in the draft. And grab Michael Bush and stash him on IR and Olsen at the 8th pick... I guess my main question is should I make the Portis deal and if I don't should I take Russell or Olsen. Remember this is a dynasty league that's been going on for right at 20 years not a redraft or a shallow keeper league... Thanks for the advice
Big Country
I don't do the Portis deal.. that answers that part. As for the pick, I think you are fine with Smith for your long term QB, so I pass on Jamarcus. That leaves you with going TE or looking at one of the other rookie backs like Tony Hunt in Philly. Any chance the guy with 7 and 8 would send them to you for the #5 pick? That is much better for you that dealing Portis and you may well still get Olsen and another RB to stash on the roster. craiginthecapital
Depends on scoring. I don't like the TE option this early; being set at TE is only a sure thing with a guy named "Gates." If the scoring favors QBs, then Russell is a fine pick (though I'm not convinced a better one than Quinn or even Tavarius). I don't trust Portis either, but the 7th and 8th picks are probably going to get you questionable runners and/or WRs, neither of which you're in great need of. I'd skip the trade.
