FFGuru
Anyone know his status? I picked him as my number 2 back and I am starting to have buyers remorse even though my only other options where Jacobs and Brown. I was big on him early but as draft day neared his stock fell. Couple questions for you pros. Is this guy a very solid number 2 back in a league that only starts 2? Did I make a mistake in drafting him over the other 2 in your opinions and do any homers have any info on his status for week 1? Thanks Guys

Rovers
Reports are he is practicing, and will play. That's about all you are going to get from Mangini. Yes, I'm a Jets homer. I think Jones has been over valued this year. First, Leon Washington will get his share. Secondly, the Jets O line still can't run block. Jones will help the Jets run game, but he won't fix it, not with this O line. Last year it was the Jets' RB's who took the blame to the poor run O, but it wasn't their fault imo. The combination of Pennington's inability to pose a deep threat with his arm, combined with a poor run blocking O line was to blame, and those two problems haven't been fixed. I think Jones is a bad #2 RB, a good #3. I won't even mention the unaturally big guns that hang off his shoulders, or the fact that he was in Chicago at the same time the now suspended Dallas QB coach was there in the Rodney Harrison HGH distribution situation. I don't own him in any league, nor would I want to unless he was gifted to me. Yes, I took Jacobs in one league with TJ still on the board. Ice717
Yes, I took Jacobs in one league with TJ still on the board. I did the same thing, I'm a Bears fan too. He always seems to get a little dinged up from time to time so this calf doesn't surprise me. And I'm sure he will get some other kind of injury later on in the season that Mangini won't be clear on and keep you guessing.

I got him in the 5th round of a 24 round 12 team IDP league. I got LJ at 1.6, Cedric Benson at 2.7, and T Jones at 3.6......couldn't be happier with that scenario. Locness_Monster
A little off topic here, but I just traded for Leon Washington. The guy can flat out play. Given that NYJ has invested in their OL recently, I think we may see a JAC type of situation here with Washington being the Maurice Jones Drew type of player. Thomas Jones has been healthy for an entire season what, once in his career?
