Locness_Monster
Team GD had Romo on a bye last week and had Brees on his bench. He was 2-5 going into the game. Didn't start Brees and lost by 30 points. Brees gets him the W. What would an appropriate punishment be for tanking the season?
#1 Niners Fan
I would talk to him...I am not saying its right, but when people are 2-5, they tend to not pay as close attention, and he may have just forgotten. Again, not saying its right, he has a responsibilty to the rest of the league to field a complete lineup, but at the same time, if he did truly just forget, not an unforgivable offense either. You know the guy, so if you truly think he was tanking to help the other guy, then you need to kick him out next year...
Rileyrott
I guess it would depend on this guy's past behavior. This year, we've got a guy that has started Ben Watson (TE-NE) every week, even through his injury. Some people, especially when losing, just don't care, or pay attention, to what's happening each week. It would be hard to prove collusion with the opponent, unless this has happened in the past. Catfish
Is there a standing league rule regarding starting players on bye? If not, I feel you have little recourse. If you don’t have a rule, you could propose one in the off season for next year. Some leagues fine owners for such things others give the commissioner authority to change lineups. IMO it’s bad practice for a commish to act on such things without an existing rule. Learn from the oversight and correct it next year. If the league feels the owner acted with ill intention, don’t invite him back next year.
Pirate lookin' at 40
if your the commish then fix his lineup for him if he doesnt do it Not the job of the commish to baby sit this guy's team. If he's tanking, don't bring him back next year.

onbrake
Next year have a playoff for the teams that dont make the playoffs and payoff the winner with there money back.Top two teams get byes he will try and get a bottom playoff bye.you could also try giving the winner first pick in next years draft. You must give them something to play for.
