Furd Posted November 12, 2007 Share Posted November 12, 2007 What's great aboout Detroit is that when the Lions win a couple of games, the fans start eating the cornbread and drinking the kool-aid. It only takes a couple of more wins before the sportswriters join in. The papers were in full swing this week. The thing is, the Lions haven't played a good football team, let alone defeated one. Look at that Lions defense! That Marinelli guy is tough! But you need to look at the QBs that they've faced prior to today: McCown, T. Jackson, McNabb, Grossman/Griese, Campbell, Garcia, Cutler/Ramsey. They got lit up by McNabb (no real shame there) but they made Campbell look like Dan Marino. The bottom line is that any better than average QB is going to carve the Lions up, even Kurt Warner. It is encouraging to this Lions fan that they are winning games that they maybe should have lost. But setting aside the record, this is still the same Lions team from last year. It is still a very bad football team. Unless you live in Detroit, I'm telling you something that you already know.
