Furd
I disagree. Most teams won't expect a halfback pass from Chester Taylor under any game situations. And it certainly is possible to call for a fake FG in a situation where the defense isn't expecting to see it. The fact that they tried it against the Lions is probably more telling, as the Lions are not a good team to test whether or not a play might work (mainly because most plays work against the Lions). I don't buy it. What team, with that score, is going to even remotely suspect a fake FG? You might just as well practice it against pylons, because its not a real game situation. Bill Swerski
It WAS over 50 yards...just saying, thats no gimmie... Now, Swerski should be here any minute to tell me what a horrible, mean person I am that knows nothing about sportsmanship. You may not know much about sportsmanship, but I can't argue with not wanting to try a 50+ yarder. It was also still in the third quarter and Tarvaris/Williamson/MIN D isn't exactly comparable to Brady/Moss/Pats D. I would've gone for the FG myself, but it's not like the Vikes are a lock to hold a lead. Edited December 3, 2007 by Bill Swerski
