cliaz
http://www.9news.com/news/top-article.aspx?storyid=92268 Check out the slide show, its insane. all that hail. KUSA - A well developed weather system over eastern Colorado is bringing severe weather Thursday afternoon and TORNADO WARNINGS to parts of the state. A TORNADO WARNING is in effect for east central Larimer County until 12:45. The warning appears to be moving 36 miles per hour through eastern Fort Collins pushing towards Wellington and LaPorte. Residents should take tornado precautions immediately. 9NEWS Northern Newsroom reporter Adam Chodak and Photojournalist Gary Wolf saw a tornado pass by them, right over Highway 34. The storm brought golf ball to baseball sized hail. The windshield of the 9NEWS vehicle was broken by the hail. 9NEWS Meteorologist Nick Carter is near Highway 85 and E-470 and says he saw what appeared to be a small tornado near Boulder County. A large cloud of debris, according to Nick, is moving north. The Poudre School District has placed all of their schools on lockdown as a precaution. A TORNADO WATCH will remain in effect for all seven metro counties and most of the northeast plains for the rest of Thursday afternoon. That includes Denver and extends down to Castle Rock, Limon, Burlington, Yuma, Akron, Greeley and Fort Morgan. A TORNADO WATCH means conditions are favorable for tornado producing thunderstorms. These storms can also produce quarter sized hail, dangerous lightning and winds over 60 mph. If you live anywhere in northeast Colorado, be ready for rapidly approaching severe weather. Stay with the networks of 9NEWS for further weather updates. Send your weather photos to photos@9news.com. TheShiznit
My mom called me from Florida... "oh my, there's a tornado!" She also calls me to tell me it's snowing. And to please bring a large knife with me when I go hiking, in case my hand gets stuck under a boulder.
