iphone 3g

I won't buy one. I love the way Apple approaches their problems. The first two versions of the iPhone sucks, so instead of releasing an updated ROM to fix the problems for our current customers, we will just release a new phone altogether and expect people to buy it.

Those $800 iPhones can't do anything outside of what my $200 T-Mobile Dash can do really. The few extra bells that those iPhones provided wasn't good enough to cover the $400 to 600 pricing gap.

However, I heard that Apple will allow AT&T to subsidize the new iPhone. So you should be able to get this version for a lot cheaper than its predecessors. :D

they actually talked about this on cnbc this morning. and they are cheaper but att is raising the prices of internet service and call plans so after the 2 year deal is up you will have paid more.

Second, Apple’s exclusive carrier in the U.S., AT&T Inc., has effectively negated the iPhone’s up-front price cut by jacking up its monthly fee for unlimited data use by $10. Over the course of the two-year contract you must sign to get the lower hardware prices, that adds $240, overwhelming the $200 savings on the phone itself. If you want text messaging, the cost rises further. With the first iPhone, 200 text messages a month came free. Now, 200 messages will cost $5 a month, or another $120 over the two-year contract.

I think I saw AT&T had them for $199 with a 2 year contract.

This isn't about the 3G iPhone, just about the previous generations, but it's a fun read.

This article is littered with profanity and is not safe for work. There are no pornographic images or anything, but a lot of vulgar language.

This article pretty much sums about my feelings about Macs and Apple altogether. Again, this article is also full of vulgarity and would be considered not safe for work.

Enjoy!

Well, my web access on my Razr stopped working today, so I went ahead and went the iphone route. The more I played around with it and checked out all of the features, the more I wanted one. The local store did not have any in stock, so they had to order me one. Should be here in 5-7 days is what they told me. I went ahead and went with the 16 GB, because I already have a ton of songs in my itunes and the 8 GB just didnt seem like enough for only $100 less. I'll probably end up selling my 30 GB ipod anyways. I love having that many songs on there, but I dont even listen to them all as it is. Anyone else get one yet and if so hows it working out?

You will not be sorry. I got the iphone for the holidays from my wife (after the first price drop) and I have never looked back, nor will I, at any other regular cell phone.

I have played around with the iphone and I am absolutely in love with the OS. Far and away better than the Verizon OS on my (touchscreen) Venus. I do love my blackberry though (work/free) so I cant really justify the cost of an iphone.
