Brentastic
In an excel workbook with several worksheets. One worksheet has a drop down menu that shows names from a list that I have on another worksheet (same workbook). What I am trying to do is once a name is selected from the drop down menu I want that name dropped from the list so. Basically, I am creating a spreadsheet for an offline FF draft - so once an owner selects a player from the list, I want that player's name removed from the original list. Any ideas on how to accomplish this? Thanks.
Big Country
I have yet to figure that one out. Best I did was for a group ranking sheet where once a name had been selected, if it was selected again both names would be highlighted to illustrate the error. But this only worked when working in the same column. If you do find a solution, let me know.
Big Country
I think i found a solution here, but i will not get a chance to test it immediately.
Brentastic
I think i found a solution here, but i will not get a chance to test it immediately. I figured something out. Without the spreadsheet in front of me I will try to relay. It takes 3 columns on the 'list' worksheet. Column A has the list of names (this will not be used for the list, however). Column B is a Vlookup that looks for the player's name (from column A) and searches on the 'draft' worksheet, if the player looks up on the 'draft' sheet, tell it to return False. Column C says: IF(B2 = false,"",A2). Then I hide columns A and B and use Column C as my 'list'. It worked perfectly.

Brentastic
Micrsoft Access I use Access everyday - but Excel is better for what we're doing (using as an offline draft tool). There are pros and cons to both.

I don't think I could have figured it out in Excel, nice work. You getting any sleep, yet, Dad?

I'm getting decent sleep, but the wife is not - poor thing. The books are coming in handy though
