policyvote
* Auction leagues are so superior to draft leagues, it's not even funny. * Start your best players. Never start a less-talented player over a more-talented player because of your perception of the matchup. The NFL is too complex to equate "this teams' pass defense sucks" to "so I should start their opponent's #2 WR". * Start your preseason best lineup until Week 4 and the byes hit. Do not bench or trade a player you were sure was set for a great year, just because they had a rough first couple weeks. * Don't sweat handcuffs. The vast majority of backs nowadays share carries anyway, and when the primary back goes down it's always a committee, and usually an ineffective one at that. * When drafting, counter conventiional wisdom at all opportunities. * Get players you'll be proud to own; 'tis far sweeter to win with players you believe in--and moreover, it's the point of the game. Fantasy football is an expression of yourself as a fan; keep it that way. Peace policy
Cunning Runt
Without reading all the replies, I think I can safely say this is the easiest question I will have answered today. Don't get so sh-t faced and then try to do an auction draft (or any draft for that matter). Man O man was I lit.

joeyb7
Given the amount of variables out there, past performance does not guarantee future results.
