Scooby
Hopefully it's not fried, but I have it plugged in and the battery charge light is on, but when I press the button to turn it on, nothing happens, screen is blank. TIA
Kid Cid
Hopefully it's not fried, but I have it plugged in and the battery charge light is on, but when I press the button to turn it on, nothing happens, screen is blank. TIA I'm just wondering if it went into hibernation mode rather than turned off. Press and hold the ON button for 10 seconds or less if you see activity. If nothing happens I can't help. Caveman_Nick
I had this happen with a Thinkpad T41. It was the video chip. If this is your problem IBM will tell you they ave to replace the logicboard, which is very expensive if the computer is not under warranty. I sent my Thinkpad to laptopdoctor.com. It cost $275 to fix. EDIT: If you can't get it to boot into safe mode, from a CD, or are turning it on and getting power but not even seeing a Bios screen prompt, this is very likely to be the problem. Laptop Doctor does free evaluations. Edited October 18, 2008 by Caveman_Nick
