Clubfoothead
is there a way to soften my suv's ride? would changing the shocks, springs, struts, etc??? way to stiff for me!!! I'm sure you could do that. I noticed on my wife's mini van, Ford reccomends a lower tire pressure than on the tires (36 lbs. vs. 42). Much softer ride with the lower tire pressure. Might want to check that before spending a bunch of cash.
westvirginia
What kind of SUV? Could depend on the suspension. A lot of times you're stuck, but all might not be lost.
AtomicCEO
I would just start loosening bolts until it feels right.
Double Agent
is there a way to soften my suv's ride? would changing the shocks, springs, struts, etc??? way to stiff for me!!! Not sure I would do this. Are the shocks factory? If so, you wouldn't want to go softer because of performance and safety reasons. An SUV rocking in a hard turn is not a good thing. Softer shocks could be dangerous. Edited January 3, 2009 by Double Agent

jetsfan
I would check out Old Man Emu and Bilstein shocks . I have OME shocks on my Jeep and the ride is WAY better than stock and the off-road performance is fantastic. Shocks will smooth your ride way more than springs. Further, the tire pressure will make a big difference.
