FireFox

When I click to open my Firefox browser I get a message that says Firefox is already running but not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.

I've rebooted many times and this has been like this for a few weeks now.

I've even uninstalled it and reinstalled.

Thoughts?

Thanks.

:wacko: What kind of keyboard do you have?

Anyway, you should be able to right-mouse click on the task bar (the chunk of bar next to the "start" button) and select "Task Manager" from the menu.

Finally dumped fire fox a few weeks ago. Too many crashing probelms. IE might be vulnarable to attack, but at least it's stable.

:wacko:

IE is an ad-ridden bloated corpse. I have had about two Firefox crashes this entire year and use it exclusively now that I finally got the only website FF was refusing to load to work at last. AdBlock Plus, by blocking all ads, makes FF load pages about five times as fast as IE. It also has about ten times the configurability.

IE sucks donkey balls.

I don't think mine has crashed more than twice either. I did have a problem when I tried to update the Google toolbar. Did a search, and one link said to shut FF down, delete/rename (safer) 3 *.ini files, and re-start FF. It worked like a charm. Here they are:

Exit FF, do a search on the files below and rename them. Then re-start FF. The files will be re-created.

* extensions.ini

* extensions.cache

* extensions.rdf
