That thing can take 1000 watts of power or 8.33amps (1000 watts / 120 volts = 8.33amps). And that is continious it can take a load up to 12 amps or 1440 watts. your equipment will not come close to that. This thing is meant for home theatre stuff and heavy duty power hungry equipment. I have a surge protector for my TV, receiver, dvd player, etc., but nothing quite like this (with UPS)? Could those components be ruined form non-surge related electrical problems as well? Any electrical equipment can be ruined by this, computers are more common because the hard drives actually have moving parts so as they speed up and slow down due to electrical current they tend to break 1st. For example, look at your monitor that broke so it is very possible that your TV can as well.
