davegroel
Schaub is facing the Jets defense and Hasselbeck is facing the Rams. Who should i start?
Blumpkinator
Hasselbeck, easy call. Sportsline called Hasselbeck the Start of the Week. Edited September 10, 2009 by Blumpkinator

Blumpkinator
^ You have to because by the looks of your signature, you have no backup QB. lmao
davegroel
hey now lets keep on the subject. i like both of them i dont know why the jets defense is all of the sudden so much better from last year but you cant ignore that the rams have a horrible pass defense and defense all together lol. ThatDude
I'm thinking about going with Hass over Rivers this week.
davegroel
Yeah im making the gutsy call of Hass over Schaub just because of the defenses that they are playing.
Shorttynaz
I don't think this is an easy call at all. I like Schaub to have a better fantasy game than Hasselbeck
davegroel
I just dont think he will. The Jets Defense is new and improved and looking to prove something with this being the first game of the season. Hass is playing the Rams and their defense isn't all that good. I just dont like Schaubs matchup.
denuked03
The good ones always find a way to shine, no matter who they are playing.
davegroel
Well what are you trying to say then denuke? Start Schaub? I am pretty much making a gamble i mean every fantasy site has Hasselbeck scoring more then Schaub. I like Hasselbeck even more tho since Walter might not be playing. Judge Smales
I have both and am going with Schaub. I think they have a better offense overall and not many changes from last year in which they were above average. I'm not sure how the RB's and WR's and offense in general will run yet in Seattle, I think all will be fine out there or I wouldn't have drafted Hass. I am still second guessing myself a little bit on which one to play, but have Schaub in and don't plan to change it unless I see something that states Schaub had a setback on this ankle in practice today. I think it's too hard to judge DEF the first week of the season, you really can't get a feel for them in the pre-season, so basing plays on matchups the first few weeks is tough IMO. Go with the better offense (at least that is what I will tell myself Sunday night).
MTSuper7
Holmgren isn't the coach any more in SEA. The entire offense is different now, so they aren't going to be the pass happy bunch we all remember. They will try to establish their running game, and if STL is as crappy as everyone thinks, they won't need to throw to win. I wouldn't trust Hasselbeck right away, despite the matchup. But the Texans have a top 5 offense from last year, and Schaub has a lot of weapons without Kevin Walter (AJ, Daniels, Slaton). Heck, Andre Davis has been adequate filling in when one of the starters has been hurt. They are a lot less likely to lean on their running game (or have the luxury of closing out the game by running the ball). Start Schaub.
