SpinalTapp Posted November 7, 2009 Share Posted November 7, 2009 We play in a modified keeper league. Owners must keep four players that were drafted in the fourth round or later. Players can be kept for three years including their draft year. One owner (who has been in the league for nine years and is now engaged to another owner) is pretty much facing a lost season. She is 2-5 and the trade deadline is looming. In addition to her fiance, her BFF guy friend also plays in the league. This evening, she posted two trades - one with each of these guys. Are these good deals that should be accepted by our league or obvious questionable deals? Deal 1 - she gives up G.Jennings and Marion Barber (both non keepers) and she gets D.Brown, S.Rice, and D.Bowe. Deal 2 - she gives up Addai, TGonzalez, B.Marshall, and Pats D and gets P.THomas, M.Bell, MWallace, Watson, and Giants D Deal 1 seems decent - though I think the guy gets a better deal Deal 2 is ridiculous IMO - PThomas and Bell + a couple cans of corn for Addai, Marshall, and Gonzalez??? This is why I won't play in a keeper league. I play either in a redraft or a dynasty league because these kind of trades won't happen. I think it is fine for a team that gives up on their season to rebuild for next year if they can attain better keeper players for players they can't keep. Which is why Deal 1 is ok with me, even though it would otherwise be considered one sided. Deal 2, however, is landslided, not one sided - Marshall, Addai, and Gonzalez for effectively one good keeper - PThomas? That's smells real bad.
