Got to go turkey hunting yesterday morning despite some rain and wind here in Missouri. By 6:30 I had a 24 pound bird (well, twenty-three and a half) in the back of the truck! He was chasing putang a la Big Ben and just like BR, got his azz into deep trouble. Any other turkey hunters do any good yet?

How's his beard?

I had a friend that stalked a HUGH tom that had an enormous beard. He finally got a clean shot at it, and killed it... shooting off the beard in the process.

That is pretty funny.

Bring your guns up here. We have way too many wild turkeys running around. Its not unusual to have 10 on my property in the morning. I am getting sick of all their chit on my lawn.

I went golfing on Saturday. The dam turkeys were taking over the couse. We are used to the geese on the course, but the turkeys are a new twist.
