Perchoutofwater Posted July 2, 2010 Share Posted July 2, 2010 If I read that correctly, it isn't that they necessarily want to extend TARP, but that they want the unused portion of TARP to be used to pay down the debt, and a fee on larger banks to pay for the new regulations in lieu of paying for the new regulations with the excess TARP funds. The fee was removed from the financial reform bill b/c the Dems were about to lose the support of the few Repubs that supported no-fee financial reform.
