I went to another verizon store and a guy who put some effort into his work and takes a little pride in his work , worked on this for like 15 minutes until we were lucky enought to make a quick enough connection to transfer my contacts. I will be doing what tbone suggested and also backing up my device on my pc. Although he was doing his job , he went beyond normal expectations imo so I tipped him.
