driveby
+2 My wife is a kindergarten teacher and she has two kids in her class (out of 20) that are dragging down the education of all the rest. If she could give them the boot, she would be a very happy camper. As would the parents of the other 18 kids I am sure. She needs to attend one of these; "Engaging & Understanding Hip Hop Culture", is a one-day interactive seminar illustrating the commanding impact that hip- hop and rap culture has on shaping the social identities of today's youth and how it affects their educational experiences. Not only do we teach the factors that shape the identity development and educational experiences of your students, we also teach effective communication strategies and various instructional methods that your classrooms can use immediately for increased academic achievement. Just a few things you will learn by attending: How hip-hop and rap culture has as much or more influence and affect on Latino, Caucasian and African American youth as any existing institution that they encounter throughout their preK-12 educational experience. Learn how a teacher was able to increase reading achievement scores by 143% with the same students in one academic school year. How properly incorporating hip-hop and rap in the classroom can blend perfectly with other curriculum ideologies such as Bloom’s Taxonomy and Marzano’s Instructional Strategies. How a school used hip-hop and rap to increase SAT scores by 50 points! We also have a DJ at the event playing music throughout the day to help explain the meaning and significance of some of the rap lyrics from past to present artists. Click Here to download the flyer to this the event, or click here to register on line. Also, please visit our webpage below for an in depth description of the event, and to view a short video that reveals what a few of your peers have to say about the workshop: www.Beyond-The-Classroom.com/hiphop The regular price for admission is $150. But we are the discounting the registration price to $125, and allowing you access to a special webinar that you may view repeatedly and on your schedule entitled, “How to create effective lesson plans using hip-hop and rap!”. The value of this webinar alone is $99, but your will receive the workshop, workbook, reference materials, continental breakfast, webinar and certificate of completion at conclusion on-site for only $125 if you sign up before October 30, 2010.
