theprofessor
Wife and I are making our annual trip to Vegas next week and wanted to get your guys advice on LV Shows and maybe some things to do "off the strip". Looking to enhance our experience. We have been to the Mystere Cirque de Soleil, Danny Gans, Celine Dion, "V" show, Wayne Brady and a couple comedy shows. We are trying to decide on La Reve at the Wynn or "O" at the Bellagio. Anyone have any experiences with these two shows? Does anyone have any tips or suggestions (websites, etc) on how to get discounted seats for LV shows? Don't mind paying full price but if I can save a little that's more I have to throw down in the sports books and the roulette tables! Off the Strip suggestions? We like to go to nightclubs, comedy shows, great restaurants, the occasional strip bars , etc TIA
dug
KA (@ MGM Grand) is amazing- just because of the movable stage (but that is the Architect in me talking)...

SheikYerbuti
Well, I don't recommend seeing Danny Gans again. I saw Ka last week and it gets a big here. I don't want to spoil it, so I'll just say there are parts of it that are jawdroppingly cool.

We like to go to nightclubs, comedy shows, great restaurants, the occasional strip bars , etc TIA My wife and I saw "O" in Sept of 09 and we thought it was really good. If you do opt to go to that one, my advice is not to sit too low in the theater. There is a lot of stuff going on in the air as well as in the water and I think you getter a better view if you're a little higher up. We had really good seats (Sec 203, Row P) but I bought them well in advance of us going out there. When I bought our tickets, it was through the Bellagio ticket office. I dont remember them being through Ticketmaster but I just looked and it appears that's who they use now, though. There used to be links to discounted "short notice" tickets on the Bellagio ticket page. I would imagine they still have something like that through Ticketmaster but I havent looked Link to O tix Hope you enjoy it if you go! theprofessor
Vegas trip is almost set .... Thursday night dinner at Mon Ami Gabi on the patio across from the Bellagio water show (one of our favorite dinner/drinks places in Vegas) - Friday night the Playboy Club Comedy Show VIP tickets with free VIP entry to the Playboy Club and Moon nightclubat the Palms. Saturday night dinner at Olives on the patio overlooking the strip and watershow. After dinner seeing "O" at the Bellagio and then to the Ghost Bar atop the Rio. Of course during the day on Saturday and Sunday will be hitting the sportsbooks for some football action. Sunday will be trying the 7 second contest at the Irish Pub in the Aria. I'll report back on how I do. What's everyone choice for Sportsbooks? Love to try a new location. theprofessor
My two personal favorites of the shows that I have seen in Vegas. I've never seen the Blueman Group and don't know why? Something always holds me back from seeing that one. I've heard a lot of people like "Love". Maybe we'll try to fit that one in/
Clubfoothead
Went a saw Crazy Girls last time we were there. I think it was at the Riveria. Nice blend of comedy, music and topless chicks.

Off Braodway was in a small theater- very intimate...

SheikYerbuti
What's everyone choice for Sportsbooks? Love to try a new location. There are basically 2 kinds of sportsbooks in Vegas. . .giant ones that look like the inside of the Death Star with digital scoreboards and giant TV screens all over the place, and the old school ones where the lines are written by hand on whiteboards. If you want the Death Star experience, I think the best ones are Mirage, Red Rock, the M Resort, Bellagio. If you want the old school experience, go to Orleans or the Gold Coast. It was $78.00 for both of us. We were in the middle, great seats. You can get tables up by the stage for more than that I noticed. I'm not a Vegas guy but the wife and I both had a blast. SheikYerbuti
M resort is a newer casino south of the strip And if you're just into seeing what a great looking property looks like, it's worth the 10 minute drive. Legend has it the guy who built it went out and bought a mountain in Italy for its natural stone, mined the stone, sent it to Vegas and built the M with it. The entire outside and pool area are paved in a travertine that's stunning.
theprofessor
Going to have to take a drive to see that. Sounds awesome. Just booked the Sunday night and Monday night couch area inside Emeril Lagasse's Stadium @ The Palazzo for the NFL games. Only a $50 minimum for each person. Heck, we'll exceed that before the 1st quarter ends

M Resort on Vegas Today and Tomorrow Website: M mmmmm The website is great to follow the construction going on out there (or at least that used to go on out there). It is my surrogate since I switched firms and stopped working on Hospitality projects.
