Ursa Majoris Posted January 16, 2011 Share Posted January 16, 2011 he had 1yr remaining on his contract with Clev but their new HC, Shurmur said (paraphrased) he wasn't sure who he wanted to run the defense...so my guess is that they are letting him out of his contract. edit: and I don't know anything about not allowing sideways movement. It might have been scrapped years ago but I thought if you were e.g. a LB coach, you couldn't go to work for someone else in the same position unless released. Something like that. Something like that. Or without permission or the contract expired. The promotion clause prevented the old team from preventing the move unless it was just lateral or downward.
