Azazello1313
The same can be said for people hanging on the words of Limbaugh and the rest of the fascist lunatics. There is no cure for stupid nor for the First Amendment. Penn and Limbaugh have the right to blather whatever they want and stupid people unable to reason for themselves have the right to slavishly believe their drivel. there's a little bit of a difference. at least limbaugh got where he is by being a political commenter. sean penn got famous by banging madonna. Savage Beatings
I'd frankly expect better from you than that. Did you the article and do you understand how this business works? Every person quoted is a creative leader who puts together a team to build a show to sell. Your panties are in a wad because they decide to hire like minded people in a creative endeavour. Every 'top executive' as called by the article is only that: a creative show runner that builds THEIR team as they see fit. Now if you want to be socialist about it and force business people to hire people to fill a political quota please go ahead and say that. Otherwise, realize you are galling hook line and sinker over taking chit at basically face value with titillating quotes in order to sell books. "Top executives" are who these people sell their show to. Who's a top executive for real? If his was Bob Iger there'd be something to it. This is nothin more than a group of self important people talking crap to make themselves sound badass. And Fred Thompson is one of many examples to disprove heir statements (republicans never get hired) by and large. You want to know why there are so many liberals out here? It's a generally a creative space. Before hires the pool is already dominated by people who lean left. Maybe I should get Z O M G because Wall Street is filled with Republicans? Dude... chill. I was just having a little fun, hence the smiley face. I assure you my panties are unwadded over this issue. I will lose exactly zero minutes of sleep knowing that Hollywood is liberal. I just think there is a bit of a double standard, that this industry gets a pass for something that any other industry would get flamed for if they came out and boasted of that kind of practice. bpwallace49
Is this just as groundbreaking as Fox News really isnt news and panders so far to the right wing with their conservative bias they risk falling over? Shocking . . . just shocking. :

Rush got where he is by being a lying bloviating devisive loud-mouth. Sean Penn has done a lot less damage to the US than Rush. eta: just as Rush might have done a little more damage to Madanna Edited June 3, 2011 by Duchess Jack

I think it is relevant that most of the people who are quoted are on the more artistic end of things. Do you feel that the artistic communitiy is split 50:50 (left and right)? If not, and if people are being hired for their skills (writing), then the these folk should be mostly left leaning.

Yea, because you can't go a day without hearing the country music industry getting flamed because most of their performers confess conservative viewpoints in their music lyrics. It's unacceptable and something must be done about it.

I was thinking of a little higher level of fame...you know, where people know him by name, rather than as "that guy who played spicoli". Ursa Majoris
there's a little bit of a difference. at least limbaugh got where he is by being a political commenter. sean penn got famous by banging madonna. According to your lot when justifying his latest bigoted rant, Limbaugh is an entertainer. According to my lot when justifying his latest whiny complaint, Penn is an entertainer. I don't see much of a difference - according to the defenders of both, they are entertainers. I still don't see why any sentient being would give two chits what either says. BeeR
Some of TV's top executives from the past four decades may have gotten more than they bargained for when they agreed to be interviewed for a politically charged book that was released Tuesday, because video of their controversial remarks will soon be hitting the Internet. Yeah this is controversial and shocking alright. In other controversial and shocking news, it's revealed that Bin Laden didn't like America very much. Well, of course nobody is surprised by this but that doesn't make it acceptable IMO. ??? Dude. Where've you been? Nowdays anything is acceptable. Get with it and lower your standards. Hollywood as our moral compass: They're a world-class authority on marriage especially, well except for those rare few that actually stay together. sup wit dat?
