rattsass
If you want a quality machine that will last, forego the residential models they sell at Home Depot and go find yourself a used commercial mower. I prefer Exmark.
SEC=UGA
Scag, Exmark, or Bob Cat. All of those will work fine. One question, is your lawn flat or are you going to be negotiating a bunch of hilly terrain. Youve got to be careful going horizontally on a hill, the back end likes to slide out and it gets tough to turn.
Furd
Thanks to all. I'm moving from a condo to a place with .6 acre. I'd prefer to cut it myself, but I may roll with a law service. In any event, I need a mower, and I'm too pompous to ride a kiddie tractor. I used a 42" or so Bobcat walk behind back when I worked on a landscaping crew, so that's an option. Scag, Exmark, or Bob Cat. All of those will work fine. I used a Dixie Chopper back in the day, so I know (or knew) how to operate the thing. Maybe a used commerical mower is the way to go. Bronco Billy
Why would anyone want a mower that only goes straight?

Furd
Why would anyone want a mower that only goes straight? If I could, I would insert "radius" into the title.
