MTSuper7
I noticed that Steve Smith is ranked 157th on the top 200 cheat sheet (PPR). Smith was recently taken off of PUP and might even be active for week 1. This is a guy who has flourished in PPR before, but he's even listed behind Jerheme Urban right now. No offense to Mr. Urban, but my grandpa should be ahead of Jerheme Urban in a fantasy rankings list. Come on... Jerheme Urban? What's your rationale for ranking Steve Smith behind my grandpa Jerheme Urban? OK, in all seriousness, I am curious to know if anyone sees Steve Smith East as a late round flier vs. a waiver wire guy. He had tremendous value in PPR last year and the year before, and is going to a pass happy offense. Seems like he could at least supplant Avant as the slot guy, and with DJax and Maclin not exactly iron men, he could have a significant role within a few weeks. Too optimistic? Thoughts? piratesownninjas
A big difference between Steve Smith in 09 and 2011 is being one of the primary targets to now being firmly behind Jackson and Maclin.
Jackass
I would pick him before Jerheme Urban.
DMD
Jerheme Urban gets the benefit of a full season's worth of stats while Steve Smith does not. I myself would never take Urban over Smith or probably Urban over anything.
BearBroncos
Just too much concern over those knees. But like you, I also think he will be a fantasy factor by maybe week 5, depending on his recovery. The Urban thing just doesn't make any sense.
