So I bought my wife a Kindle for christmas. I want to get the thing set up and put a couple books on there, but when you go to register it (you have to to buy books) you need to put in the "owner's" info.

Well, if I put in her e-mail address and info and buy books I'm certain that she will get confirmation e-mails to her e-mail.

My question is... If I set it up using my email and info can I register it to her at a later date?

When I got a Kindle for my spouse a couple of years ago, I let her register rather than me doing it in advance - to answer the original question, IIRC you CAN do it with a separate email, in advance, etc ... but it takes all of ~3 minutes to have the person getting the gift do it themselves ... and in my experience, the spouse had fun with the "do it yourself" aspect on Xmas day ... getting used to how the thing works, etc.

You can always pre-purchase a couple of e-books, have the "activation code" sent to your email - and when you buy on Amazon check the "this is a gift" checkbox - then you print the email with the activation code, give it as a separate gift, and your wife downloads the e-books right to her new Kindle in just a couple of minutes.

Probably the best idea.
